…for something that won’t come?  I already know that there’s no point in waiting around and wishing for something to happen.  I’ve been waiting patiently for “the one” to come along, but everyone has just passed right on by me without even so much as a glance.  And that would be the case if I sat around doing nothing about it.  People get where they are and get what they get because of the work they put into it.  A garden doesn’t grow by merely wishing and waiting.  You have to carefully tend to it.  Pay it regular attention.

So that’s what it really comes down to: the effort that you put in.  That’s why I’ve had nothing to show for all these years…
